Part 1: The Foundation of Personal Leadership   Welcome to our series on Building Personal Leadership! True leadership starts from within. John C. Maxwell's had this to say about leadership- "Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge." To take care of those in your charge, you need to have the capacity to understand their unique needs and challenges. You need to be steps ahead of them to understand their fears, worries, concerns and thereby provide relevant answers to their questions. Leaders who exert impact in the life of others are leaders who lead from personal experiences and who first invest in personal leadership. You can not give what you don’t have. If you attempt to do so, you will only feed them theories and leave them clueless on how to practice them. People stick to leaders who are masters at leading themselves. Hence, in your leadership journey, the best place to start is PERSONAL LEADERSHIP.

NIGERIA: BEYOND THE PAINS.

Image
Dear Nigerian Youth, All is Well. I just felt I should remind us that we are greater than the pains and trying times we are passing through. A friend said something, "Nigeria is in the Labour Room" the New Nigeria will soon be birthed. While we mourn, Let's do what our leaders never expect us to do - Let us solidify our resolve to Make A Difference with every opportunity we ever get to lead in this country. Somewhere deep in their minds, they believe we will get tired and forget about this. They think it will be yet another social media ginger that will die down with time. Let's show them that they've messed with the wrong generation. But, Let our strategy not match their expectations. Let our strategy not suit their trap or compliment their smartness. Its painful that it's taking the lives of innocent souls. It hurts so much that they died in defense of a just course, in the full regalia of patriotism. It's tough they

So I reached out to Chimezie Judemary Udechukwu   about my sustained interest in the Model United Nations (MUN) Conferences. He's been an astute Muner, several times President of the General Assembly, my Noble President of the United Nations Security Council at several  MUN. He acknowledged my reach out and one of those evenings, called my attention to Asian Pacific International Model United Nations (APIMUN) Conference. So, When he notified me of the call for Dais (that is committee executives), I was delighted and looked forward to having to learn from the best, as well as having him thread the international space with me.🦾 Little did I know that my boss, didnt apply for that.😳 After series of Interviews, written and oral, I got a mail after one back-to-back busy week. The mail congratulated me for being appointed as the Chairperson for the United Nations Human Right Council for APIMUN Online Conference Version 4. 🦾😀💃🏾 While being excited about the opportunity, I was

PEACE? SO WHAT?

Image
The sound of war has never been sonorous.  The outcome of violence has never been relieving. The reward for revenge has never been a guiltless hug. The price of unforgiveness has never been ephemeral. The relieve that comes from PEACE has always been rejuvenating. Theres a lot more to celebrate than to mourn about if we can dig deep, and think from the optimistic side.  There's a lot more progress to be made when united, than in separate paths of needless divides.  If our generation can focus more on the things that unite us than those that tend to divide us, we will see the pathways that leads to through greatness in the eyes of everyone. We will understand the priority of being humans over our individual selfish interest. We will appreciate the blend in our skin colours and the beauty in the variety that language brings. If there is one goal man has always longed for unconsciously,  it is to live in a land of Peace and Harmony. A territory where potentials can be fully expressed,

Children Lead Too!

Image
Today, we join the world to celebrate the children in our lives. While you buy them Ice cream and  Pizza, please endeavor to have a life changing conversation with them about their lives and future relevance. While you take them to Crunchies, Kilimanjaro, KFC, Seven Eleven, Mr. Biggs and the big eateries, take some time to tell them the stories of how such businesses are built with resilience, and that it's more rewarding to be the owner than his customer. While it's a time to celebrate children all over the world, its most importantly a time to teach them about living significant lives that will make them better citizens and great leaders of tomorrow. Buy them books, share transformative stories with them. Play them movies/Videos of World Youngest talents, kids making history. Teach them 21st century leadership principles in simplified ways. Let today count in their lives so much that even after excreting the waste from today's plenty chopsss and fun, they'll still be

THERE IS A KING IN YOU

Image
Years ago, a time came when kings were gathered for a meeting in a faraway land. I got an invite to attend that meeting and so I put my things in order and set off on the journey.  Two days later, I got to the venue, a magnificent palace with walls decorated with precious stones. I got into the palace and I sat down where servants were seated. A palace guard who saw me as I entered the palace walked up to me and bid me to follow him. I followed.  He got to the front row, stopped and turned to me, he said "Look up there sir, that is where you are meant to be seated, up there, not down here".  Confused I asked "aren't those seats meant for kings? I'm just a servant and I'm here to serve".  He quickly checked his book and looked up at me and said "you look like a king to me and here look! You are named among the kings".  Without further protest, I proceeded to the stage where kings sat and quietly found a seat amongst them. I was calm but my quest
