LIMITING BELIEFS

Image
Let's Talk About Limiting Beliefs! So through the weekend, I had a power-packed online conference I attended that repositioned my life and I'm sure many of us here also attended that summit - Headstart Summit. One of the Major takeaways I had from that summit was - Destroy Limiting Beliefs. While I paid close attention to the 17 different power speakers of that conference, from Disruptor Ubong King, to Disruptive Creator Kunle Soriyan. I discovered that significant progress in life is bounded (Permitted and Restricted) by our belief system. No matter your business or professional inclination, you are at the mercy of your mind. In fact, your business goals, financial projections, leadership goals, management targets are as big as your minds eyes can see. So if it's about the mind, you can understand why it's about our belief system right? Because  our mind is the headquarters of our beliefs. It not only processes those thoughts, it also decide to what extent you can even...

CONSISTENCY AND BECOMING

Image
Dear friend, I know you desire all the success you can get out of this life. You see those who have had a level of success and you admire them, you want to be like the. And sometimes, you ask if this is ever going to be possible. It is not an impossible dream, it is attainable, very attainable. But you need to travel the path of excellence, they traveled. It takes commitment to start, it takes consistency to finish. The trouble most times is you get started but lose when it  comes to consistency. Excellence is a habit you need to imbibe and develop and it comes through consistency. Somewhere, I read that when you fail to execute a daily habit for one day, it reduces the odds of retaining that habit by 5%. Failing to execute a habit 2 days in a row, reduce the odds of retaining that habit by 55%! Yes, 55%! Miss more than 2 days and you can kiss your new habit goodbye. Therefore, never miss doing the minimum daily requirement for 2 days in a row. If you miss one day, make it a priori...

Good Day Amazing Leaders. I trust we are doing good amidst the challenges! We are in a very defining moment of human history. In such a time when the world is having several lockdowns from our normal lifestyles and all we count as default. A point where we wonder at the possibility of adhereing to unconventional instructions,  all towards a sincere effort to safe our lives. COVID-19 has indeed taught us that we can do without many things we attached "constant" figure to in this life. Truth is,  if we must make the best out of this isolation period of history,  we must embrace the virtual realities that have been created to compliment physical experiences. And more importantly,  we must relish in the lessons this reality teaches us about the true longings of humanity. It's a time to deepen the learning process and pick up those skills that you've envied having,  but have been always robbed of, by your core stifling capitalist working environment or en...

GENERATION NEXT!

Image
Which generation do you belong to? What’s peculiar about your generation?   With the trends of your generation, how much can you vouch for a better next generation? How passionate are you about giving your kids a world worth living in? What efforts are you making in ensuring the next generation celebrate memories of your lifetime? These are the questions that run through my mind from time to time, and I think you also need to consider them as important if you see life from the perspective of Making A Difference. Welcome to a technology age where the speed of communication has been geometrically improved, while deepened the gap of genuine human interaction with real feelings. Welcome to an age where kids are succinctly educated about the historic significance of memorial dates, without being taught the priority of forgiveness beyond painful past. An age where immorality is being justified with an excuse of self-actualization, body autonomy, and liberalis...

Virtue Series 6: Industrious Leader

Ben Franklin had this to say about being industrious, "Industry: Lose no time; be always employed in something useful; cut off all unnecessary actions." In life,  there are a whopping lot of things waiting to be attended to within the limited 24hours. But guess what?  70% of them are not worth prioritizing!  Most times we lose time being busy with things that do not worth our time. Being industrious cannot be achieved if the labour of your every second is channelled to unnecessary activities. As a leader,  you need to spend every second wisely.  Build people,  systems,  values,  achieve goals. Let your every action culminate into productivity and lead to the achievement of your goals. Be busy with a purpose. Feed your mind with information and engage in actions that produce results.  An industrious leader fosters creativity in himself and his followers. He doesn't give room for idleness. He gives time for leisure,  but doesn't allow...

Virtue Series 5: FRUGALITY IN LEADERSHIP

Image
After 6months Mr. Peterson always changes the company cars. He thinks making a profit of over $6million after tax deductions in 6months, and having a stable business finance, is big enough to buy every other thing he needs and live a bit more flamboyant. Funny enough, he sells this car to some companies that uses it for a minimum of 1year and six months without having any need for a change. They save some cash by buying it cheaper, and using it longer. Who is wiser? It’s fun when business grows great enough that you experience a constant boom that enhances your financial stability. But, where lies the wisdom in spending the profits on trivial things forgetting there is such a thing as economic depression? Lack of frugality in business financial management has made many start-ups to plummet and eventually get into extinction. There is always a new tech-gadget and a new equipment in the market. But do you really NEED it? There are new and more sophisticated techniques of get...
