INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY CHARGE



QUINTIMPACT INITIATIVE’S INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY NOTE!
Today we herald our independence, celebrating the tireless efforts of great patriots who fought for our colonial freedom and built our ideological framework. However, a retrospective look into the spate of our nationhood leaves us with many a question to ponder on.
Are we sustaining the labours of our heroes past?
Are we still running with the passion that spurred them?
Are we building on the unifying identity they fought for?
Are we really uniquely independent from colonial oppressions?
Are we having successive leaders with the burning flame of unity we saw in the eyes and acts of our fore-founder?
Over the last 365day, we have multiplied in millions, we have recorded increased international hearing, but what exactly have been the news about us in international ears? Have they been about efforts to grow beyond mediocrity or news that taunt our supremacy?
Independence is about freedom, but how free have we been from hydra headed monsters that seek to tear our entity and reputation – Corruption, ethnocentrism, Deadly-Political-Partisanship and marginalization.
I charge every YOUTH reading this message to ponder on his/her relevance at this point of our countries existence and ask yourself,
What can I do to create the change that freedom really entails?
What can I initiate to make the next generation have a place to proudly call home?
What can I do to find relevance in the annals of history of this territorial hemisphere where I was born?
It’s not about critiquing our efforts, it’s also about being a voice of change, and taking the necessary actions to salvage your generations. Borrowing from the words of Mr. President in his Independence Speech, “…We are not there yet because the one commodity we have been unable to exploit to the fullest is unity of purpose…” I believe in Nigeria! I believe in the patriotic labours of unity by our founding fathers! I believe in our progress toward real independence! I believe in your uniqueness to build our land.
Oh Lord the creator of the Universe
I beseech you this day even as we celebrate our independence
That you instil in us the spirit of true patriotism
That you implant in us the fear of the Lord which is the beginning of knowledge and greatness,
That you give us leaders after your own heart
That you inspire us with policies that are within the confines of your will for our unity
That you spur our hearts to be the difference we crave for as youths,
And that you make us a beacon to the world, in politics, religion, economic strength and unity,
All these and more we pray through Christ our Lord, AMEN!!!!

Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!

D BROKEN SILENCE!!!! Some 8years ago , I feared standing up in the midst of a crowd not to talk of speaking to them. The irony about the issue was that i always had a succinct idea that i believed was needful to place this aright, but i always squabble in fear and let my mouths get sealed up. She got into trouble because i found it difficult to say a word and prove her guiltless. I got bullied a couple of times because my silence made them feel I was configured to be maltreated. I missed bonus marks in the class, not because I didn't know the answer to the "seemingly tough question" but because i just kept silence about my knowledge , feeling so timid to say my mind. Amidst this years people kept on telling me, don't worry its just the best way to be - SILENT, I felt worst when I noticed in my small veil- covered mind that even those who spoke made no difference.
