STAYING RELEVANT
The battle for relevance is one every individual automatically enrols in at the point of birth. This battle as fierce at it is retains only the determined at the long run. From innocent cradle, the young toddler struggles for food and water that he may survive. The struggle grows into whose parents are the best in primary school, to who worth’s being above punishment in the secondary school. The relevance game in the university is much more intense that cultism becomes a perfect pseudo-platform for existential relevance rivalling School politics and most times belittling academic prowess.
The sum total of the reality is that everyone has been created to be unique and relevant in his/her timeline on earth. But the biggest question is “Why can many be the dream persons they ever wished to be and create that impact that lies in them?” The answer to this question lies in the interest of every young mind. It’s about what moves you? It’s about what you spend more of your time doing? It’s about what you can comfortably sacrifice for?
The potency in the Nigerian youth today, has a lot to do with the political sphere and its selfish mannerism BUT the truth remains that no one will easily hand over any opportunity to a waiting-to-be-made youth. We truly have leaders who are never tired of the corridors of powers, BUT the truth also is, that we lack adequate young minds who can break the jinx through their sweat and set a pace that will be stellar for future generations. We have very few young minds who are willing to make the sacrifices of pleasure in politics to turn things around. So how do we carve the niche that will make us the craving of every Nigerian? Truth be told, we have a lot of leaders without vision and caressing on the ability of impassionate advisers to tell them what next to do. BUT how many young minds can we count of today that are quickly thinking and working with their fellow intellectuals without fear of betrayal, and bringing about visible changes in their immediate environment?
It’s high time we the young minds think less about politics and thing more about personal and human development. Its high time we the young ones think less about when the senator representing our Zone will develop the one and only road leading to our fathers house, and start raising group of like minds who will muster up resources and sacrifice for the development of our immediate community. Gradually, fate will fail the naïve visionless politicians and our actions will enthrone us to the hub of political power if need be. The truth is, no manner the level of agitation and protest, the bad eggs will always smuggle up, but if we can carve a sphere of significant influence, we will steal the show.
Staying relevant is not about being in the corridor of political power, it’s rather about placing a valid trademark in the labours of the weak and helpless in the society. It’s not about bearing the big appendage of an Honourable or Senator or Excellency to your name, it’s about being that Mr./Mrs./Miss somebody that the world will crave to see. Being and staying relevant it’s not a wishful thinking or about being the most dreaded or even richest man in your locality, it’s about being the reason why others can boast of a pleasurable future and a food-decorated table, sickness recovered health, and blossoming comfort because of the footprint you’ve left in the sands of their lifetime.
It is one thing attaining true relevance, but a bigger price must be paid if you will stay relevant. You must break the shackles of mediocrity, stop the blame-game, and take charge of your life. We must learn to start modelling the type of future we dream of while expunging the gullibility of our leaders away from our life. It’s not going to be easy to make a difference especially if you’ve not decided to toll a different path. We are strong beyond measure. Let’s rise up to responsibility and let the world crave for us. Let’s ingrain righteousness and GOD in our thought process and blueprints, therein shall we be the indelible personalities posterity will never think of forgetting. TO BE, IS TO BE PERCEIVED!!!!

D BROKEN SILENCE!!!! Some 8years ago , I feared standing up in the midst of a crowd not to talk of speaking to them. The irony about the issue was that i always had a succinct idea that i believed was needful to place this aright, but i always squabble in fear and let my mouths get sealed up. She got into trouble because i found it difficult to say a word and prove her guiltless. I got bullied a couple of times because my silence made them feel I was configured to be maltreated. I missed bonus marks in the class, not because I didn't know the answer to the "seemingly tough question" but because i just kept silence about my knowledge , feeling so timid to say my mind. Amidst this years people kept on telling me, don't worry its just the best way to be - SILENT, I felt worst when I noticed in my small veil- covered mind that even those who spoke made no difference.
